After completing the logo design work for Dynamic Feeds and Dynamic Asset Group, I was tasked with creating a comprehensive brand manual. This manual tells you how to make sure that all of your branding attempts have the same look. It discusses important things like typography, colors, logo proportions, and the best ways to use the image in different situations.
The client asked for a clear and thorough brand manual that could be used by teams inside and outside the company to make sure that the visual assets of the brand were used correctly. What they wanted the instructions to have was
Han Solo Regular and Futura LT are the official fonts. There are also color codes for both digital (RGB) and print (CMYK) uses.
—Rules for using logos correctly, such as limits on distortion, effects, and wrong places
The brand guidebook started out by writing down the exact color codes and fonts that were used in all of the company’s logos. I made sure to include thorough information on both RGB and CMYK values. This helped the client make sure that the colors would be correct in both digital and printed materials. There are also specific rules for using typography in the guidebook. This makes sure that all future marketing materials have a professional look.
The brand manual also has clear directions on how to keep the integrity of the logo. This includes things like not distorting the image, not adding any visual effects (like gradients or shadows), and making sure that logos are always put on simple backgrounds so they can be read.
The Dynamic Feeds and Dynamic Asset Group teams had a strong way of keeping the brand consistent with the end brand manual. The manual became an important way to make sure that all visual elements matched the company’s professional image, whether they were making new marketing materials or internal documents. Also, it helped set clear rules for future partners, making sure that the brand would stay the same no matter who worked on it.
