I’m Pieter Bruwer, the owner and graphic designer behind BRU Graphic Design, an independent graphic design business based in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
I’ve been working in graphic design for over 22 years, gaining experience across print design, advertising, branding, website design and digital marketing materials.
I established BRU Graphic Design in 2020 to offer businesses a more personal approach to professional graphic design.
When you work with BRU, you’re working directly with me — the person designing your logo, preparing your artwork or developing your website.
There are no account managers passing your project between departments. From the initial discussion to the final artwork, I remain directly involved.
How BRU Graphic Design Started
Before establishing BRU Graphic Design, I spent years working in the graphic design and print industries, gaining practical experience in creating artwork for real businesses.
That background taught me something important: good design needs to do more than look attractive on a computer screen.
A business card needs to be readable. A logo needs to work in different formats. A brochure needs to communicate clearly. A website needs to be practical for the people using it.
In 2020, I decided to put that experience into building my own graphic design business.
BRU Graphic Design was created to help small businesses, startups and established companies access professional design services without needing to work through a large agency.
Today, I continue to work directly with clients, providing custom design solutions based on their individual needs.

Not every project fits into a standard service package.
I also assist with social media graphics, promotional artwork, product labels and other custom business design requirements.

My Approach to Graphic Design
I believe that good design should support what a business is trying to achieve.
A design doesn’t have to be unnecessarily complicated to be effective. Often, clear typography, suitable colours, strong visuals and a well-considered layout are what make the biggest difference.
Before starting a project, I try to understand what the business does, who its customers are and how the finished design will be used.

Working With BRU Graphic Design
I work with businesses in Bloemfontein and throughout South Africa.
Most projects can be managed remotely through email, online discussions and digital proofs.
Before beginning, I’ll review your requirements and provide a quotation outlining the project scope, deliverables and estimated timeline.
A 50% deposit is generally required before work begins, with the remaining balance payable upon project completion and approval, before final delivery.
