The Challenge For a company specializing in Photographic Safaris, the stakes for print quality are incredibly high. If your marketing material is blurry or pixelated, you’ve lost your audience before they even see your itinerary. For De Klerk Safaris, we needed to showcase the majesty of an African Elephant and a diverse range of wildlife on a massive 3000mm x 2200mm stage banner. The technical obstacle was ensuring that every feather, tusk, and blade of grass remained sharp at 300dpi on a three-meter canvas.
The Solution Achieving “authentic representation” at this size requires a deep understanding of the printing process. I moved beyond standard design work, focusing heavily on the technical upscaling of the source photography. By meticulously preparing the files to handle the jump from “screen size” to “stage size,” I ensured the colors remained vibrant and the details remained crisp even under harsh exhibition lighting. The layout was intentionally designed to draw the eye to a single, powerful focal point—the elephant—while a secondary grid of photos provided the “proof of concept” for the variety of safaris offered.
